Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Shafiq Diop discussed with Ayatollah Hassan Aktari, head of the Iranian-Syrian Friendship Committee, ways to enhance economic, investment and technological cooperation and raise it to the level of political and strategic relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Diop stressed the importance of work and coordination in the current and future stage after the achievements and victories that have been achieved against terrorism with the support of allies and friends and the efforts made by the Syrian government to restore what the terrorist war on Syria destroyed during the past years, pointing to the systematic targeting of the industrial and productive sector by terrorists and their supporters.
Ambassador Diop pointed out that the enemies of Syria transferred their war to the economic sphere after they failed to achieve their goals militarily and imposed on the Syrians the harshest types of sanctions known in history.
The Syrian ambassador pointed to the new investment law recently issued in Syria and the facilities and exemptions it provides to local and foreign investors with the aim of creating a comfortable and attractive investment environment, calling on Iranian companies to take advantage of the advantages of this law.
For his part, Akhtari affirmed his country's interest in general and the members of the Iranian Friendship Committee with Syria in particular in enhancing cooperation with the Syrian side in various fields.
In turn, the members of the Iranian Friendship Committee presented possible aspects and areas of cooperation with Syria, especially in the fields of energy, housing, industry, environment, agriculture, insurance and others. It was agreed to continue coordination and work to accomplish what was discussed and achieve the aspirations and desired results.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Iranian-Syrian Friendship Committee and managers of some Iranian companies.
