A great honor for Schongau's former district administrator Luitpold Braun: On the occasion of the state assembly of the Bavarian Federation in Altötting, Duke Franz von Bayern presented the Schongau with the gold protector badge he had donated.

- Braun received the award for its outstanding services to the Bayernbund and the promotion and maintenance of Bavarian customs as well as the preservation of down-to-earth culture.
In his laudation, the chief editor of the Weiß-Blauen Rundschau of the Bayernbund, Fritz Lutzenberger, emphasized the merits of Luitpold Braun in founding the Bayernbund district association Weilheim-Schongau / Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which was able to gain 200 members within a short period of time.
Luitpold Braun has also designed and organized the annual program as deputy chairman since the district association was founded.
In addition, the former district council has initiated the award of a ring of honor, with which every year on the Bavarian Constitutional Day personalities from the area of activity of the district association are honored who have made special contributions to Bavaria, said Lutzenberger.
