Around 1 a.m. on the night of Thursday to Friday, a fire broke out in a building located on Place de l'Europe, in Vélizy-Villacoublay (Yvelines).

Faced with the situation, the one hundred and forty inhabitants of the building were evacuated.
Among them, twenty-two people were inconvenienced by the smoke but there were no injuries to deplore.
An inhabitant to relocate
Contacted, the mayor (DVD) of Vélizy Pascal Thévenot welcomes the rapid intervention of the firefighters: "they evacuated eight people stranded in their apartment with the large ladder".
The victims were then taken care of and taken for the night to the nearby Ariane municipal hall.
"We provided them with drinks and something to eat," said the elected official.
The vast majority were able to return to their homes at 5.30am this Friday morning.
Due to a power cut, eighteen people were unable to return, "they will return to their apartment this evening or tomorrow at the latest," continues Pascal Thévenot.
Only the apartment from which the fire started was destroyed, its occupant will be relocated by the lessor.
