The police and the prosecutor's office agreed to release Dr. Aryeh Levin, despite collecting evidence from other complainants against him, one of whom was a 14-year-old girl.

Despite the 15 complaints received by the police against Professor Aryeh Levin, the gastrologist suspected of committing rape and indecent acts on his patients and their mothers, the police decided in agreement to release him under house arrest.

During house arrest he will be barred from attending international medical conferences through the Zoom, and engaging in medicine.

Only in the previous hearing did police spokesman Inspector Oren Sasson ask for an extension of Levin's detention, noting that four other complainants arrived, from whom testimony was obtained, one of them a 14-year-old girl. , As well as on some of the events about which Levin claimed that "this is a novel."

At the same time, defense attorney Adv. Lior Epstein claimed that one of the complaints was from 26 years ago and that the police had no medical opinion that this was not a medical procedure.

He claims Levin has performed the medical procedure on hundreds and thousands of patients, and there has been no case of a patient since 2015 other than the case he defined as "reciprocal."

Epstein sought to release his client to full-time house arrest.

Now, under the direction of the prosecution, which understood that the investigation would continue for a long time and it would not be possible to file an indictment while in custody, it was decided to release him under house arrest, in part because additional medical opinions need to be obtained.

Judge Christina Hilu Assad, accepted the agreements and released Professor Levin.

Defense attorney Adv. Lior Epstein said in response to his client's release: "As the investigating unit noted in its request for release, the investigation is complicated and depends on medical opinions that have not yet been received.

We are convinced that the more the investigating unit and especially the State Attorney's Office uncover and delve into the material, the more they will understand the necessity and importance of medical examinations, all of which were performed for the dignity and health of patients.

"They will come to the conclusion that the suspicions about the medical treatment have no professional basis, and they had no place in the first place."
