Nuremberg - On Saturday morning (November 20) the fire brigade had to arrive because of a fire on Schillerstrasse in Nuremberg *.
At around 12.30 p.m., fat had caught in a deep fryer in a family's apartment on the first floor.
One resident tried to smother the flames with a blanket, but to no avail.
The family of four then fled the apartment and called the fire brigade, reports the Central Franconia Police Headquarters *.

The emergency services had to evacuate the whole building, with the residents gathering in front of the house.
The family from the burning apartment was taken to a clinic as a precautionary measure on suspicion of smoke inhalation.
Nuremberg: Massive property damage, but no injuries
After the fire brigade * had the fire under control, the residents were able to return to the house.
Immense property damage had occurred to the kitchen with the frying fat, but the rest of the building remained intact.
In addition, no people were injured.
