Businessman and contractor Dudi Appel was arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of evading millions of shekels in income.
Along with him, Shimon Cohen, a lawyer and accountant specializing in tax law and a former senior member of the Securities Authority, was arrested on suspicion of evading income "by sophisticated and varied methods" from the Tax Authority, during his activity as a lawyer.
Apple was one of Cohen's customers.
Apple was released today, and Cohen was released under house arrest until Dec. 9.
According to the suspicion, Cohen acted while making false representations and helped his clients hide revenues amounting to tens of millions of shekels.
The investigation materials show that three years ago, Apple, although it does not have an income tax file, carried out a brokerage transaction jointly with Adv. Cohen, and according to the suspicion, the two pocketed millions of shekels from this brokerage transaction.
