A four-year sentence has been handed down to Aung San Suu Kyi, the former Myanmar leader, who has been accused of inciting and violating the country's corona regulations, the Burmese media reported this morning (Monday).
This is the first sentence imposed on her since the military coup in the country, which took place in February.
The state court may sentence 76-year-old Sochi, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991, to 100 years in prison after a number of indictments were filed against her.
She dismissed all the allegations against her.
As you may recall, Suu Kyi served as Myanmar's State Adviser, a position corresponding to the Prime Minister, until the army took command of the country.
