Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Bassam Sabbagh, affirmed during a Security Council session that Syria condemns the use of chemical weapons anywhere, anytime and by anyone and whatever the circumstances.
Al-Sabbagh indicated that Western countries continue to fabricate lies about Syria's cooperation with the OPCW to pass resolutions and establish illegal mechanisms in a flagrant politicization of the organization's work.
Pointing out that the practices of some Western countries have turned the OPCW's reports and teams into an essential part of the hostile campaign against Syria, which has seriously damaged the organization's credibility.
Ambassador Sabbagh clarified that the inaccurate information in the OBO reports formed a pretext for filing false accusations against Syria within the decision-making bodies of the organization, indicating that the declaration evaluation team was established to help Syria, and it is not an investigation team.
Sabbagh said: Syria rejects the false accusations against it that are based on false information and rejects any conclusions based on formulations that could be manipulated and interpreted.
