Elements of the Directorates of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Homs and Lattakia seized two warehouses, one containing four and a half tons of expired foodstuffs, and another containing foodstuffs for children without a label and with a false production date.
Engineer Rami Al-Youssef, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Homs, stated that a warehouse containing raw materials used in the manufacture of children’s appetizers belonging to one of the industrial city factories in Hassya was seized in violation of the expiry date, as all quantities were confiscated until a decision is made by the judiciary and the necessary legal measures are taken against the violators.
In Lattakia, the Internal Trade Directorate seized today a warehouse in the city of Jableh, whose owner is loading a truck with quantities of baby food “chips-appetizers” on which there is no statement card, in addition to falsifying information related to the date of production and validity.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Engineer Ahmed Zaher, explained that the violator also transports the material in an unhealthy way, as the quantities of 300 bags were confiscated, the warehouse was waxed, and the violator was referred to the duly competent judiciary and the necessary legal measures were taken under Legislative Decree No. 8.
