From various governorates, the talents of scientific excellence came to Damascus this evening to participate in the final qualifiers for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the 2021-2022 season, scheduled to start tomorrow, to select members of the national teams that will participate in international and international Olympiad competitions during the coming period in the specializations “Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics.”

During a meeting with the students after their arrival this evening at the Ebla Hotel in Damascus, Engineer Hala Dakkak, Head of the Excellence and Creativity Authority, congratulated the students for reaching this advanced stage and noted the efforts they made during the previous stages of the competitions, stressing that the Syrian youth proved their worth and ability to excel and achieve achievements and advanced positions despite all conditions and challenges.

Dakkak reviewed the instructions for the central exams and how to deal with questions that require analysis, logical thinking, and deep knowledge of a lot of information and scientific references in the required disciplines, pointing out that the "Science Challenge" competition will be launched during the final qualifiers, which will be held in conjunction with the selection tests next March, with the aim of granting A new opportunity to obtain membership in the national teams of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the holders of bronze medals and certificates of appreciation in the current final qualifiers, provided that the participant chooses a specialization other than the one he participated in in the final qualifiers for the 2022 Syrian Scientific Olympiad.

384 male and female students from different governorates will participate in the final competitions held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority, according to a statement by the authority's media advisor, Malek Hammoud, which includes two rounds of tests on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hammoud indicated in a statement to SANA that the duration of each round is four continuous hours for the “mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology” majors at the Ebla Hotel in Damascus and five continuous hours for the Informatics majors at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at Damascus University.

It is subject to tests according to the students of the first year of secondary school who qualified from the current season and the old students who were members of the national Olympiad teams during the previous years, as well as the students who achieved first ranks in the Scientific Olympiad for adolescents, the school programming competition and the programming marathon for children and adolescents in the 2021 season, where the question models were developed from the committees The central scientific of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad.

In interviews with SANA, a number of students expressed their enthusiasm and enthusiasm to participate in the exams tomorrow. From Damascus, the participating student, Ornina Abbas, said about chemistry that her arrival at this stage prompts her to exert more efforts and perseverance to achieve her future dream in the scientific field that she loves and desires.

From the province of Aleppo, the students, Bashir Khaled Haj Rashid, majoring in informatics, Rand Falaha, and Hala Haj Hamdan, majoring in mathematics, thanked the professors who supervised their training during the preparation period for the exams, and stressed that the Olympiad competitions give the student self-confidence and gain new knowledge as a result of searching for various sources of information.
