Today, it is even within the reach of the first hacker to come, from the other side of the world.
Attacking a small business is less lucrative for cybercriminals than ransoming a large corporation or stealing trade secrets.
But small streams make big rivers and hackers have industrialized their activity to reach wider and wider.
With ransomware that is easily purchased on cybercriminal markets, they can send a thousand hooks at the same time to hook their victims.
"In the lot, some will necessarily be trapped,"
observes Christophe Corne.
