Different perspectives on Forstern and its peculiarities: There are many ideas for a lively local history museum.

Forstern

- "The museum is closed, but it has developed a little further," informed the chairman of the Forstern Association for Horticulture and Local Heritage, Ludwig Hiebinger, at the municipal council meeting.

At the invitation of Mayor Rainer Streu (AWG), he presented his ideas for the Forstern local history museum.

According to his report, the museum could not be visited during the pandemic and there were none of the popular museum days.

"But it should be reopened," announced Hiebinger when asked by Maria Feckl (Greens), who also wanted to know whether class visits were currently taking place.

“The school is still an open construction site.

You'd have to knock again," said Hiebinger.

The Green Councilor remembered the visits with the refugees and said appreciatively: "It was very exciting and also a special experience for school children."

Streu and Thorsten Sharmatinat (Greens) brought the topic of interactivity with the use of digital media into the discussion.

The panel also signaled its willingness to provide financial support to the Heimatmuseum.

The municipality has the sponsorship, the operator is the association for horticulture and home care.

Streu praised the committed work and expressed his thanks.

Hiebinger referred to the municipality's electronic image archive with many old photos, which he owned.

In order to prepare this, "I would actually need support," says the association's chairman, for whom one thing was particularly important: "A museum has to be lively in order to remain attractive to visitors."

With changing exhibitions that open up different perspectives on the history of the community over several generations, "revive the memories", arouse interest, focus on different aspects and always show "peculiarities from Forstern", this should be realized - a Path that has already been successfully trodden.

The chairman of the association attached great importance to an artistic presentation in the technical sense.

Stefan Ganghofer (CSU) basically suggested looking at craft businesses to see what historical material you could get.

"Would current topics also be interesting?" Peter Feckl (AWG) asked, referring to a special component from his company that will play a role in future Mars explorations.

"I'll be right there," said Hiebinger.

Maria Feckl saw an attractive retail theme in “Stories of corner shops” in the community.

“I think the idea is a good one,” said the club chairman.

Simona Loupal (SPD/non-party) suggested using the app for the scavenger hunt in the holiday program for the local history museum, for example to offer stories about exhibitions or other interactive content with music.

Hiebinger thanked for all the tips.

In his lecture, he also gave a retrospective that vividly illustrated the development of the local history museum and the fruitful cooperation with the Eicher Museum.

At the end of his presentation, the local researcher said that further projects would be developed and that he could then also say "what it costs".

The current opening hours of the Forstern local history museum in the Eicher administration building and the reference to the Forstern chronicle should be published in the community information sheet.
