Munich – In Munich, the fire brigade rescued two young beavers from a life-threatening situation on the Isar.
As can be read in the mission report, the two animals got into the emergency situation in the Mariannenbrücke area on Tuesday morning (April 12).
"When duty begins, employees always do a morning tour and check the computer system," says the fire brigade.
An employee made an unusual discovery.
"Two young beavers got stuck on the steel bars and couldn't get out on their own." But what now?
The automatic cleaning function would have either killed or seriously injured the two beavers and the employee himself was unable to free the two.

And so the fire department rushed in.
The emergency services also assessed the situation as extremely life-threatening.
However, since beavers are a protected animal species, the emergency services had to involve the lower nature conservation authority and the local beaver officer.
Normally, under no circumstances should the beaver's habitat be encroached on - otherwise there is a risk of punishment.
Together, the emergency services and the institutions agreed to help the animals.
"The emergency services and the officer courageously grabbed the wild animals and put them in a transport box, since catching them with a net did not meet with the victims' approval," it continues.
