The DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen is satisfied with the course of 2021. Thanks to the operation of the corona test stations, a financial cushion was created.

Wolfratshausen

– Since the incidences are still high, the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen held the most recent annual meeting online.

The topic of Corona also dominated large parts of the event.

According to the press release, Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner thanked the water rescuers for their work at the test stations in and around Wolfratshausen.

A two car garage is urgently needed

The tests began at the end of 2020 and lasted until autumn 2021, with over 3000 hours of voluntary work involved.

The tests could be billed from spring 2021, so that a good financial cushion could be generated for the DLRG.

This serves as a reserve for upgrading an operational garage.

As Sebastian Hafner, Head of Operations, explained, the DLRG is urgently looking for frost-proof accommodation for two vehicles with a trailer and a small storage room with the option of maintaining materials.

"Any hint is welcome," he said.

Swimming training in the Geretsried indoor pool is going well

Impressive figures awaited in the area of deployment.

In St. Heinrich alone, 2186 watch hours were worked.

Thanks to the financial surplus, the voluntary helpers can look forward to clothing funding.

Stefanie Dienel from the training department explained that the swimming training in the inter-municipal indoor pool in Geretsried is now going well after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, from the beginner swimming training to the training for the lifeguards.

On the “Wolfratshausen teaching pool” project, the team is working hand in hand with the architectural office, the blacksmith school and the city of Wolfratshausen.

The water rescuers are heard regularly and were able to contribute all their ideas.

The DLRG is also involved in the Ukraine crisis.

"2021 was a successful year for the DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen, and 2022 got off to a good start," writes Deputy Chairman Mathias Feichtbauer in his statement.

Because the Corona requirements are now slowly falling away, the youth of the local association in particular can “get off to a flying start”.

The Easter egg hunt at Lake Starnberg on Easter Monday could take place after a two-year break.
