Mittenwald / B2 - The federal police ended a dangerous smuggling on the B2 on Sunday night.
The officials stopped a car with Italian license plates as part of the border controls near Mittenwald.
There were no fewer than eight people in the five-seater car.
An Albanian national was behind the wheel of the car.
He carried a total of seven people.
Six of the Turkish migrants, a 35-year-old mother with her four children (5, 8, 9, 11) and her baby, had to sit in the back seat – there was no sign of child seats or a baby seat.
Seat belts could not be put on due to lack of space.
The father, who was in the passenger seat, said he and his family had no choice but to ride in the car.
The tour in the overcrowded car was preceded by a trip on the back of a truck.
The truck driver probably dropped them off at a gas station in Italy.
The Albanian driver would have approached them there.
The obviously organized smuggling cost him a total of several thousand euros.
He had to flee Turkey with his wife and children because they would have been persecuted by the military there.
After the completion of the police measures, the Turkish family was directed to an initial reception center for refugees.
The federal police in Garmisch-Partenkirchen are investigating the Albanian driver, who is registered in Italy, not only for smuggling in foreigners under dangerous conditions, but also for driving without a license.
He couldn't show a driver's license.
He allegedly misplaced it somewhere at home.
According to the request of the public prosecutor, the 28-year-old was taken into custody in Munich following a court decision.
