The Knesset will vote tonight (Tuesday) on the "Dimensions for Studies" law, which aims to fund 66% of the academic tuition of combatants, lone soldiers, and soldiers from special socio-economic status.

While the coalition does not have a majority expected to pass the law, the pressure on the Likud party in opposition has increased - despite their decision to vote against the bill while submitting a reservation seeking to raise the funding rate to 100%.

Ahead of the vote on the law later in the day, and against the background of criticism of opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to oppose a law promoted by the coalition, some Likud MKs spoke out against support for the law. "When four or five Likud members come out and say we will vote for the law, whatever we say - we lost." Regev added that "in everything related to Pike, propaganda, we do not succeed."

The coalition was outraged by Regev's remarks, which provoked much criticism.

Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid shared the article from Walla!

On Twitter, and wrote that "politics at the expense of our soldiers is a loss of temper and a moral bottom. Netanyahu and the opposition against IDF soldiers.

What a shame. "

His party colleague, Yurai Lahav Herzno, wrote:" I was willing to offer Regev a light stomach, but unfortunately the former IDF lieutenant forgot where she came from, and her stomach does not hurt when it comes to IDF soldiers.

For her, to trample on anything that comes her way, even at the expense of the fighters who risk their lives for us. "

Also with new hope they attacked the former minister's statements.

MK Zvi Hauser wrote: "There are those in the Likud who will also step on IDF soldiers for the illusion that it will bring them back to power, and not even hurt their stomachs."

MK Michal Shir wrote: "Really Miri?

Do not have abdominal pain?

My question is why?

You do not care about the new immigrants, the disabled, the children.

"How do you stab IDF soldiers in the back? Those who do not have abdominal pain on such important social issues are not part of the national camp. Shame."

After the storm that her words provoked, Regev released a video in which she claimed that her words had been distorted, and repeated her party's messages.

"We will fight for the soldiers to receive one hundred percent."

Provoked criticism.

In preparation for the vote on the bill, dozens of students gathered in protest outside the Knesset in Jerusalem.

The demonstrators called on Knesset members to pass the proposal, citing signs that read "Do not go out without uniforms for school," "Do not leave the fighters behind," "Khalas with the games, today they vote for" and "Put politics aside, vote for."

"We call on all politicians, the coalition and the opposition - to compromise. It is essential that this law be passed," said the chairman of the National Student Union, Elhanan Fleheimer, who also took part in the protest.

This is the law of souls.

Wake up. "

The plan was launched by Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who was then Defense Minister, in 2016. Two years ago, the Netanyahu government decided to condition the scholarship on volunteer hours - which contradicts the main points of the law.

In the coalition agreements, Yisrael Beiteinu demanded that the original law be included in the budget base, so that the plan would return to its former state, and now it is ready to vote.
