Washington, SANA- After acknowledging that the extremist Nazi Azov Brigade is recruiting extremists who support the extreme right and the ideas of terrorism

Washington-Sana

After acknowledging that the extremist Nazi Azov Brigade was recruiting extremists supporting the far-right and white supremacist ideas, the US authorities began collecting information about its citizens who, with the support and facilitation of it, went to Ukraine for fear of returning to the United States with combat experience, according to what the American newspaper Politico revealed.

The newspaper based its report on a customs and border control document dating back to last March showing the US authorities' admission that Ukrainian nationalist groups, including the Nazi Azov Brigade, "are actively recruiting white racist militants to join various volunteer battalions of neo-Nazis to fight against Russia." The fears of the return of these extremists to the US lands prompted the authorities to scrutinize the history of those wishing to go to Ukraine.

According to the newspaper, information from the Customs and Border Control Service indicates that the Ukrainian embassy in the United States received, before the 3rd of last March, more than 3,000 requests from Americans wishing to go to Ukraine to fight against the Russian forces, including 5 people who were interrogated by customs officials before they took off. From John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, it turns out that one of them is a former member of an extremist movement known as "Bogaloo" and the other is a former US Marine who is planning to join the extremist Nazi Azov Battalion.

US Customs data indicates that among the Americans questioned was a person who had tried to join the terrorist organization "ISIS" earlier and was also planning to join the Azov Brigade.

The document explained that there are "information gaps and questions" that CBP does not provide answers to, and one of them relates to skills that American fighters have learned in Ukraine and that they can use in militias and extremist groups of the right-wing and racist in the United States.

And before the start of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass, the Verkhovna Rada approved an expanded law that would allow the army to arm local militias by order of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Not only did it arm and recruit civilians, but went beyond it to calls for attracting foreign mercenaries through the formation of the so-called “Legion” The foreigner,” in a move that the United States, Britain or the European Union did not object to. On the contrary, European countries rushed to Ukraine’s participation in mobilizing these mercenaries, as Britain and Denmark announced that volunteers from their countries would be allowed to join the aforementioned legion.

Thus, the scenario of attracting terrorists and recruiting mercenaries in Ukraine was repeated, similar to what happened in Syria, where Western countries recruited foreign terrorists from all over the world and provided them with various forms of support and facilitated their infiltration across the border with Turkey mainly to destabilize Syria’s security and stability and pave the way for acts of aggression and occupation under the pretext of combating ISIS. ISIS is a terrorist.
