In the midst of an economic crisis, one of the most prestigious five-star hotels in Harare, the country's capital, lacks water and electricity. A note addressed to his hosts particularly caused a reaction.

"

If you need hot water, a bucket will be brought to you

". social media on Wednesday.

The Meikles Hotel, a century-old institution in the capital Harare, suffers like the rest of the country, and despite its five stars, from the lack of water and electricity.

In a recent guest advisory, the property manager, Tinashe Munjoma, warns that the hotel has been running on a generator for several days.

In some areas, outages can last for hours.

"

If you need hot water for washing, please contact the maintenance department and a bucket will be brought to you

", specifies the hotel manager.

The breakdown was repaired on Wednesday, as the hotel announced on its Instagram account.

But on social networks, the note has meanwhile been shared many times, accompanied by photos of people trying to rinse themselves in a bucket.

Other netizens posted indignant comments about the establishment's standing: "

A five-star hotel in a country that experiences endemic water and electricity cuts should have appropriate measures in place

."

The well-known establishment in the country regularly welcomes business leaders, employees of international organizations as well as tourists.
