Nur-Sultan-Sana

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Toloberdi called on the world's nuclear powers to draw up a plan to eliminate deadly nuclear weapons.

On the eve of the first meeting of the States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, Russia Today quoted the Kazakh minister as saying, “We call on all states, including the nuclear powers, to draw up a phased plan for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons by 2045, the centenary of the founding of the United Nations.

Toloberdi stressed that Kazakhstan's practical contribution to nuclear disarmament gives the moral right to continue calling on peoples and governments to redouble their efforts to rid the planet of the threat of nuclear self-destruction on the basis of strengthening mutual trust.
