Herzliya for Animals:
The subcommittee of the Herzliya Municipality has approved the wording of a directive for the protection or evacuation of animals, which will be incorporated as a condition for the start of construction work in complexes designated for evacuation, demolition or reconstruction in the city. After receiving approval from the Sustainable Planning Department of the Herzliya Municipality for a document to be submitted by the developer, the main purpose of which is animal protection, or evictions from the areas of the compound if necessary.
This is a follow-up step after the mayor, Moshe Fadlon, signed the Gush Dan Regional Nature Convention at the beginning of the month.
The document the developers will be required to sign is expected to include an animal attendance survey including nesting on the trees included in the complex;
Presenting solutions for the orderly evacuation of animals before construction begins;
A directive prohibiting the felling or pruning of trees during the nesting period relevant to the species present on the site, if the document indicates that there are nests on the trees in the compound.
The developer will be responsible for submitting the document, which will be prepared by a dedicated animal evacuation organization or ecological consultant, submitting a letter of commitment to implement the required solutions by the start of work, including contacting an animal evacuation agent, and arranging the animal evacuation.
The Herzliya Municipality stated:
"The preservation of animals as a condition for the advancement of construction and the development of the city is a value of environmental and sustainable importance, which will allow further development and advancement of construction, without harming animals, prevent disturbance of ecological balance and sometimes prevent extinction of animal species, along with massive construction. Within the city limits. "
The Mayor of Herzliya, Moshe Fadlon:
"The Municipality of Herzliya allocates many resources to preserve sustainability and the environment. Nature is the most important value for our continued existence and therefore we must take responsibility and do everything to preserve its resources and virtues. This is our commitment as a city for our children . "
