Today, the Eid Shopping Festival kicked off at the Farm Consumer Complex in As-Suwayda, with the participation of commercial activities and civil associations offering a wide variety of foodstuffs, consumer goods, clothing and family needs at discounted prices from the market.
Regarding the festival, which is being held by the As-Suwayda Governorate in cooperation with the As-Suwayda Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in the governorate, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the festival coordinator in the governorate’s General Secretariat, Walid Al-Hamoud, drew in a statement to SANA’s reporter, the governorate’s keenness to hold events that secure a wide variety of food and consumer items for citizens at prices discounted in one place.
In turn, the director of the Syrian branch of trade, Rabie Ghanem, indicated that the participation of the branch in the festival is an affirmation of the role of the Syrian trade in positive intervention by providing various basic materials to citizens and Eid requirements at prices lower than the market by 10 to 15 percent.
For his part, the head of the Suwayda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nabih Bakri, explained that the festival witnesses the participation of commercial and industrial activities in the governorate by providing products and food and consumer items at reasonable prices, pointing out that the Chamber has taken initiatives through a number of commercial activities to distribute food baskets to families in need.
SANA met with a number of business event owners participating in the festival, where Shafiq Gharzeddin, owner of the Gharz al-Din Commercial Establishment, indicated that his institution seeks to participate in events that provide high quality products at competitive prices, while the owner of the Muhanna Trading Establishment, Marwan Muhanna, pointed out that the institution participates permanently in festivals to provide merchandise To citizens at reduced prices and sell some at cost.
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bint Al-Jabal Association, Rana Azzam, also drew attention to the association's participation in the festival's activities through the clothing produced by the association's workshop, where the sale is made at cost, in addition to providing free clothing to the deserving family.
