A Roman fort with a viewing platform, swords, shields, catapults: the theme of Asterix and Obelix offered the children plenty of fascinating opportunities to re-enact the lives of the famous comic heroes themselves in the first week of the holiday.

The two comic heroes Asterix & Obelix are strong, clever, have magical powers and fascinate people of all generations.
So perfect for recreating the world they live in with children and young people: In the first week of vacation, a Gallic village and a large Roman fort were built in the Freizi youth center in Graefelfing – with all the props, of course.
Gräfelfing
- As every year at the start of the holiday season, Freizi in Lochham hosted its popular adventure playground.
“The two mismatched heroes proved to be the perfect theme for the first week of the holiday.
They experienced lots of adventures and repeatedly enraged the Romans with their stubborn resistance,” says Johannes Steinbach, social worker at the youth center on the Würm.
"The children and young people have a lot of fun immersing themselves in the world of the Gallic villagers and the Romans."
Foam Catapults
As early as Thursday, there was a huge Roman fort with a viewing platform in the middle of the spacious Freizi garden, from which attacks could be repelled with foam catapults.
The Gauls held back and moved into a tent city on the edge of the site.
Of course, the ingredients for the famous magic potion were not revealed.
To keep Obelix from starving, wild boars were sawn out of wood, painted and placed in the Gallic forest.
Batik shirts were designed all around, swords were carved and painted and the famous Asterix helmet with wings was made.
"Realizing your own ideas, tackling them and finding your place in a large team - that's the pedagogical idea behind our adventure playground," says Florian Witschas, head of the youth center.
The youth center also has a number of interesting program items to offer in the second and sixth week of vacation.
