Against the background of "Operation Dawn" the leadership of the Labor Party will meet today (Sunday, the exact time has not yet been determined) to discuss the impact of the security situation on the labor list elections for the 25th Knesset, which are expected to take place this Tuesday (9.8).
Party CEO Nir Rosen: "During Shabbat, we closely followed what was happening in the south of the country. The Labor Party expresses total sympathy with the residents of the south and is strengthening the security forces. The party management will meet soon to decide whether to hold the primaries on their date."
The primaries in the Labor Party will be held digitally and securely via the mobile phone, which makes it possible to participate in the elections from anywhere in an easy and effective way.
Alongside the digital voting, physical polling stations will be placed in Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Beer Sheva, which may affect the decision of the party management.
Likud is also considering how to act on the issue of the preliminary elections, which are supposed to take place on Wednesday.
Benjamin Netanyahu told his men that he wanted to wait until Monday morning, then he would see what the situation was - whether the fighting would continue or whether there would be a lull.
If the fighting situation is significant, there is a high chance of postponing the primaries.
