She regained consciousness for a while after being rescued, but her condition suddenly deteriorated. After being rescued by medical staff, she was confirmed dead at 0:19 a.m. yesterday (19th, Monday).
The police said on the day of the incident that they received a report at 4:15 p.m. on the 18th that a 24-year-old woman named Liu’s canoe had turned over in the sea about 100 meters off Baishazhou, and the woman was suspected of drowning.
Officers arrived at the scene, and the marine police rescued the female victim. She was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in a coma for treatment, and then regained consciousness.
