The commander of the intelligence administration of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan in southeastern Iran was killed during clashes in the area.
This was confirmed last night (Friday) by the Iranian news agency Tasnim.
The senior officer in the Revolutionary Guards is an officer named Ali Mousavi who was shot in the chest during clashes between regime forces and what was defined in the Iranian news agency as "terrorist elements".
The incident took place near the Mecca Mosque in the city of Zahedan.
Mousavi was transferred to the local hospital for medical treatment, where he was pronounced dead.

Among other things, demonstrations broke out in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan in the southeast of the Islamic Republic.
There, the demonstrators shouted slogans against the Ayatollah regime and the modesty police.
The demonstrations also continued in the heart of Tehran, where documents were circulated on social networks of young people shouting: "Death to Khamenei!".

Earlier in September, the modesty police murdered a young woman named Mahsa Amini who was visiting Tehran.
She was initially arrested on the grounds that she had violated modesty regulations, and was later taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Amini was in a state of coma before her condition deteriorated and the doctors had to pronounce her dead.

In addition to this, the media in Iran reported on Friday that gunmen attacked the police headquarters in the city of Zahedan.
According to what is known, 19 people were killed in the clashes between the parties and dozens were injured.
This is one of the most violent incidents so far.
Despite the death of the senior member of the Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced on Friday that it had arrested dozens of people and confiscated explosives during the protests.
The ministry's statement also stated that 19 foreign citizens from Germany, Poland, Sweden and other European countries were arrested.
Earlier on Friday, a human rights organization announced that at least 83 people had been killed in the past two weeks.
