With a concert by the “Mays Al-Reem” band affiliated to the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Institute of Music, the activities of the Syrian Culture Days were launched this evening at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Lattakia.

The ceremony, in which he presented a variety of Arabic song music by the great Arab composers, including Sayed Darwish, Zaki Nassif, Ziad Rahbani and Taher Mamelli, opened a group of events that include various activities in the artistic, cinematic, theatrical, intellectual and heritage fields that will continue until the beginning of next month.

Majd Sarim, Director of Culture in Lattakia, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that work has been done to include in the celebration all colors of the cultural spectrum, including exhibitions of plastic art, sculpture, photography, theatrical and cinematic performances, shadow theater and book fair, in addition to the presence of special activities for children, indicating that these events are a reflection of the production and efforts. Various cultural institutions, centers and institutes affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.

The director of the Al-Assad House of Culture in Lattakia, Yasser Sobouh, noted the importance of the celebration, which constitutes a cultural demonstration that provides an opportunity for creators, especially young people, to present their works to the large audience that accompanies the celebration in its various intellectual and artistic fields, which confirms that the Syrian culture is in a state of continuous renewal and giving.

Musician Ziyad Abbas, leader of the Mais Al-Reem band, stated that the band constitutes a new experience for the students of the Al-Ajan Institute by presenting oriental music with an orchestral arrangement.

The ceremony was accompanied by the opening of a plastic art and sculpture exhibition for students and graduates of the two arts centers

Fine Arts and Applied Arts, in addition to a book exhibition in the lobby of Dar Al-Assad for Culture, which Elham Naasan Agha, Director of the Fine Arts Center in Lattakia, saw in it as a great opportunity that reflects the importance of the celebration that allows students and graduates of the center to present their artistic productions to the public and critics, noting that the exhibition came with the participation of thirty students and graduates from the center who presented sixty A work that represents all the center's departments, including portraiture, free drawing, sculpture, engraving, and others.

Tomorrow, as part of a traditional folkloric concert, a “dancing theater” will be presented at the Cultural Center in Ain Al-Sharqiya, in addition to showing the movie “The Deceived” at Dar Al-Assad Theater in Lattakia.
