In France, many emergency services are saturated.
That of the hospital center of Châteaubriant, in Loire-Atlantique, is no exception.
In an attempt to unclog it and thus reduce patient waiting times, the North Atlantic Loire Professional Territorial Health Community (CPTS) is launching a new medical device from December 5.
The idea is to guarantee those suffering from mild symptoms (fever, headache or sore throat, abdominal pain, etc.), in other words "non-vital" emergencies, an appointment with a general practitioner in the sector in l within 48 hours.
“At the moment, we have 24 practitioners registered to participate in this system.
They will reserve, on weekdays and during the day, specific slots in their agenda to welcome these patients
, ”explains Alison Hamon, administrative assistant at the local CPTS.

Specific telephone line
However, the device is not for everyone.
It is intended for patients who do not have attending physicians or where one is not available quickly.
To obtain an appointment, you will need to call a dedicated telephone line (02.51.84.03.52) open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
A telesecretariat specializing in medical appointments will act as a “filter” to verify the legitimacy of the request.
"For example, appointments for prescription renewals will not be taken into account
," says Alison Hamon.
On the other hand, if the request meets the set criteria, the patient will be offered an appointment as soon as possible near his home.
Otherwise, a solution will be suggested within a radius of 30 km.
"When a person is sick, they are ready to travel a few kilometers to be treated
," says Alison Hamon.

The territory covered by the system extends over three departments and more than 40 municipalities.
It encompasses the communities of communes of Châteaubriant-Derval and Nozay as well as the territories of Martigné-Ferchaud, Thourie, Eancé (Ille-et-Vilaine) and Pouancé, Carbay, Chazé-Henry, Armaillé and Saint-Michel-et-Chanveaux ( Maine et Loire).
