The 18th season of “Bauer sucht Frau” ended on RTL in November.

The dome show has now been awarded a negative prize by the animal protection organization PETA.

The romanticization of "animal exploitation" and the lack of education are criticized.

Stuttgart – PETA has been awarding the negative “Speciesism of the Month” award since September.

This time it hits the RTL dome show “Bauer sucht Frau” moderated by Inka Bause (54).

PETA hopes that "Farmer Wants a Wife" deals with the topic of "animal welfare".

On the website, the animal welfare organization complains:

"The show is already playing down animal exploitation in the 18th season – it even romanticizes it and in no way explains animal suffering caused by agriculture."

Instead of campaigning for more animal welfare, the RTL show ignores it Animal suffering cold gone.

The animals would be used as a backdrop to symbolize the perfect "farm idyll" - but their own needs would not be taken into account.

"Cuddles, cute animal names and trivialization are at odds with the fact that true animal interests are hardly taken seriously," criticizes Lisa Kainz, agronomist and specialist for animals in the food industry at PETA.

What is the purpose of the "award"?

The animal welfare organization hopes to “encourage the editors of the format to critically portray animals on the show”.

What does speciesism mean?

The definition of "Oxford Languages" is: view according to which man is superior to all other species and therefore entitled to treat their representatives as he sees fit.

PETA writes: "Speciesism is the

discrimination against non-human animals

and their exploitation for food, research objects, clothing materials or toys.

Like discrimination against people based on their gender, origin, disability, age or sexual orientation, speciesism causes great suffering to those affected.”

Facebook users find the award justified

PETA's decision to give the dome show the negative award is well received online.

"You're absolutely right about that.

This show pretends that exploiting animals is normal.

We are in the 21st century, when people no longer need meat, milk and eggs to feed themselves,” complains a Facebook user.

A second said: "I totally agree.

I even sent Inka Bause messages about the 'welfare' of the animals on her shows, but didn't get a single reply.” And a third is brief: “Deserved award”.

Will PETA soon become aware of another reality series?

A Vox show recently caused a stir.

At "Goodbye Germany" a pig slaughter went wrong: "Not quite dead after the first sting."
