Chairman Johannes Wegmann chose self-critical tones at the annual general meeting of the Schliersee Tourism Association.

From now on, the focus should no longer only be on the cultural autumn.

Schliersee

– If the Schliersee Touristik Verein had needed a new logo, the decision would probably have fallen on the “red K”.

Since its premiere in 2008, the cultural autumn has been the dominant element in the work of the association, said Chairman Johannes Wegmann at the general meeting in the Alperie in Neuhaus.

But while he likes to praise the success story of the series of events in cooperation with the municipal guest information on other occasions, this time he struck a much more self-critical note.

Kulturherbst tied up a lot of capacity

The cultural autumn tied up the capacities of the Schliersee Touristik Verein so much that other activities and even the regular conferences that had been common for a long time had come to a standstill, Wegmann admitted.

That should change again from now on.

The new election of the board and the rejuvenation of the advisory board are the starting signal to devote more attention to the areas of tourism and local design.

Wegmann named the renovation of the club's property at the stronghold as a positive example.

The cutting of the wild growth with the landscape conservation association (LPV) and the building yard has already been done, as has the fence for the goats of a Schliersee farmer.

These are supposed to act as natural lawn care providers, ensuring that the stronghold is transformed back into a “green hill” that can be planted with flowers, Wegmann said on request.

In a next step, the restoration of the monument, including new bronze plaques, will be tackled.

Bike trails at Spitzingsee?

In the future, the club will also come up with ideas for upgrading its property on Seespitz next to the lido, according to the chairman.

In addition, one will again become more involved in local development and provide impetus for the upgrading of the station-school axis and the main road.

In terms of tourism, a new trail offer at Spitzingsee could be a possible starting point.

For all topics, the association's large network will be used to involve the community (council), traders/tourism service providers and private landowners with their visions.

There are no major upheavals on the board of the association.

Chairman Wegmann, his deputy Peter Könekamp (Arabella Alpenhotel), secretary Susanne Geiger (Gästehaus Huber am See) and treasurer Marion Haringer (Ferienwohnung Haringer) have been confirmed in their offices.

Since Jan Flörcken did not appear again, Michaela Bürger (Lechner am See) was re-elected second deputy chairwoman.

Advisory Board rejuvenated

Meanwhile, the Advisory Board has more new faces.

With Hans Kemenater (Slyrs), Christoph Stöger (Schnapperwirt) and Lukas Wasmeier (open-air museum), there are also younger "players" on board.

The two municipal councilors, Ursula Bommer and Florian Reinthaler, are to ensure close exchange with politicians.

It is particularly important to Wegmann to give the committee the value it once had: as experts who are involved in the daily project work of the association.

Following the example of the Kulturherbst, but no longer just under the sign of the "red K".
