In the underground car park of the Geretsrieder Kaufland, the way to the car leads through centimeters of deep water – a repeated nuisance, as a Facebook user reports.

Geretsried – Whether on foot, by bike or by car, cold, snow and wetness are currently dominating the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle throughout Germany.

And no matter how beautiful the wintry landscape is, it often leads to problems.

In the past few days, the German Weather Service has warned of "severe frost" and a high risk of slipping.

Underground car park flooded: Kaufland customer complains on Facebook – "It always looks like this"

Last week in Wolfratshausen and the surrounding area showed that the frosty weather did not stop at the Oberland.

The responsible road maintenance department in the city on the Loisach recently warned of "high potential for storms".

The storm period was relatively mild with lots of precipitation and frosty temperatures.

However, the wintry weather conditions have recently caused trouble in the neighboring town.

The drama did not take place on public roads, but in the underground car park of a Kaufland branch in Geretsried near the B11.

A Kaufland customer and Facebook user drew attention to the topic.

“It always looks like this in the underground car park in Geretsrieder Kaufland,” he was annoyed and posted three photos of the supermarket’s underground car park that was under water.

As the photos show, the water is so deep in some places that the lane markings disappear in the dirty water.

Kaufland Geretsried: Presumably meltwater as the source of the flooding

One aspect is particularly annoying for the complainant.

As can be seen from his Facebook post, the parking spaces are said to have disappeared under a centimeter high cloudy soup in the past.

Apart from that, customers have to cross “high water” on the way to the branch and back to the car.

"When is there going to be a drainage channel please?" he asks as he vents his indignation.

The management of Geretsrieder Kauflandes did not want to comment on the situation when asked.

A response from the company headquarters is still pending.

However, the Kaufland Facebook team made itself felt with a comment.

This has "passed the whole thing directly to our colleagues" and sends "Best regards".

It is assumed that snow brought by the cars caused the flooding.
