Today, the Ministry of Culture granted the State Encouragement Award for the year 2022 to poet Dr. Maram Al-Nisr in the field of literature, and to Maestro Andre Maalouli in the field of arts, in appreciation of their creative, intellectual and artistic giving, while the award was withheld in the field of criticism, studies and translation.

A history full of artistic achievements by Maestro Andrei Maalouli. He was born in 1974 and graduated from the Arab Institute of Music with distinction, majoring in the violin, and a graduate of the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus in 1998, majoring in viola. He holds a master’s degree in music from the University of Damascus in 2016.

Maestro Maalouli worked with the Oralien City Orchestra in France and with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra for two years in France in 1997 and with the Mediterranean Institutes Orchestra in Marseille in 1998. He also took over the leadership of the Syrian National Symphony in 1999 in Damascus and worked with the Barouk Orchestra in Lebanon and participated in many Arab and foreign festivals.

Maestro Maalouli participated in the Algerian National Orchestra and in conducting the Solhi al-Wadi Symphony Orchestra in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He also led the Orpheus Orchestra in a concert with the international pianist Richard Clayderman in Damascus and led the Orpheus Orchestra with the Damascene Joy Choir, as well as with the Kanazah Choir of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in more than from party.

Maestro Maalouli is a professor of music at the National Syrian Private School for 7 years and leader of the Shams Children Orchestra. He also worked in composing the music education curriculum for the Ministry of Education for the primary and preparatory stages in 2010. He founded and trained the choir of the Jerusalem George Church in Jdeidet Artouz and has been the dean of the Higher Institute of Music since 2014. Until 2019, a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Colleges and Higher Institutes of Music in the Arab World at the Association of Arab Universities, a member of the teaching staff at the Higher Institute of Music with the rank of Professor, and Director of Musical and Ballet Institutes in the Ministry of Culture from 2012 to 2014, and currently Director General of the General Authority of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, and he is the founder of the Orpheus Orchestra He is a professor of the viola instrument at the Institute and a member of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra since 1990 and the Syrian Chamber Ensemble since 1984. He is a member of the Damascus String Quartet and a member of a number of orchestras.

In a statement to SANA, Maestro Maalouli considered that this award is an added value to his artistic and creative career and places a great responsibility on him in preserving the cultural values ​​produced by this award as part of his great tasks in the field of art and music. It is a tribute to creativity, creators and thinkers.

Maalouli pointed out that the importance of this honor stems from the sincerity of belonging to this ministry, which contributed to pushing him towards success and ascending the career and creative ladder through its stands, expressing his great happiness for this generous gesture by the Ministry of Culture.

As for the poet Dr. Maram Al-Nisr, born in 1994 and graduated from the Faculty of Human Medicine at the University of Damascus in 2017, she has published a number of poetry collections “The Statement – ​​Marayat – Magic Embracing Eternity, which won the Nizar Qabbani Poetry Prize – A collection of Ya Leaving to the Wind My Heart – An Eagle on the Tops of the Clouds – Alone In front of the sea".

Poet Maram participated in a number of competitions, “Prince of Poets - Nizar Qabbani - Arab Writers Union Competition for the Best National Poem.” She is a member of the Arab Writers Union, the Poetry Society in Syria, and a member of the Arab Writers Union, the Poetry Society in the Emirates.

In a statement to SANA, the poet Maram expressed her happiness at winning this award, indicating that its moral value is great in her artistic career, especially that she is at a young age in front of the veteran writers who previously received this award, and that the most important value is that she is from her country that embraced her talent since her childhood to be a beautiful cultural image of Syria.

It is noteworthy that the award comes based on the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2012 establishing the State Appreciation and Encouragement Awards in the field of literature and arts for creators, thinkers and artists, in appreciation of their creative, intellectual and artistic giving.

Each winner will be given a sum of money and a commemorative medal with its innocence, provided that the winners will be celebrated and the prizes will be handed over to them on a date to be determined later.
