Two people have died and five are missing in Peru in landslides triggered by intense rains, the government announced on Saturday.
They occurred between Thursday and Friday in a peasant community in the district of Atavillos Bajo in the province of Huaral, in the region of Lima (north).
"
We have two dead and five missing because of landslides and rockslides
," Justice Minister José Tello told reporters.
A 65-year-old woman is among the victims.
Twenty-seven homes were destroyed, according to the National Emergency Operations Center.

The rainy season, which began in January and could last until the end of April, has claimed 84 lives and nearly 45,000 victims across the country, according to the emergency services.
