Conor McGregor responded tonight (Thursday) for the first time to the civil lawsuit filed against him.
As you may recall, yesterday in the NY Times the complainant's allegations from the same meeting with the Irish MMA fighter were published in December 2018. McGregor was arrested in early 2019 following the young woman's complaint then, but the case against him was closed after a few weeks.
"This is old news," he referred to the Conor issue at a news conference ahead of UFC 257. "The case has been thoroughly investigated for two long years and my name has been cleared of all suspicions."
In addition, a representative from McGregor, Karen J.
Kessler made the statement: "After an exhausting investigation that included investigations, the collection of testimony from various witnesses, examination of photographs and the cooperation of Conor McGregor all charges were dismissed outright."
Kessler continued: "The prosecution knows that the facts contradict the allegations in the indictment. Mr. McGregor will fight the allegations against him and is confident that justice will come out and win."

Meanwhile, McGregor, who was the world lightweight and featherweight champion and was the first to hold both belts simultaneously, is expected to fight once again against Dustin Fourier at UFC 257 event to be held this coming Saturday (5:00, 5 + LIVE).
In addition, Conor referred to Habib Normgomedov, his nemesis who defeated him in a battle whose riots at the end are most remembered.
"We will get him more," Conor said, referring to a rematch he wished, against the invincible Russian warrior.
"I think if he continues to dodge the rematch he should be stripped of the championship title."
Habib's last fight took place in October 2020 against Justin Giji.
