Last week, Endress sought an interview with SCR managing director Pana Christakakis and asked him to terminate his contract. The background to this is that the 24-year-old had already applied for an apprenticeship in the automotive industry before returning to his home club in January. At first, Endress received a rejection and therefore wanted to force his career on the ice. Therefore, he moved from the Bayern division Pfaffenhofen to SCR. Unexpectedly, however, he received the acceptance for the apprenticeship. The Garmisch-Partenkirchner wants to seize this opportunity, therefore asked for the contract to be terminated and is now ending his ice hockey career. For the SCR, however, this surprising departure means that the previously narrow squad will be reduced again for the 2021/2022 season. “We need an adequate replacement in this position,” confirms Christakakis.
