– After four years in the Regionalliga Süd, the FC Forstern footballers have lost the fight against relegation.
They missed their last chance with the 2-1 defeat at FFC Wacker Munich on Sunday.
The course of the game was typical for the season.
The hostesses went into the hard but mostly fair duels with concentration and attention.
They also put away two early warnings without being slowed down.
Wacker took the lead after a corner.
Kira Winter benefited from the fact that Forstern's defense didn't agree on the allocation and was therefore a fraction of a second earlier on the ball (36').
The lead was deserved because Wacker was superior to the rest of the field and thus created one or two scoring chances.
But the end of the line was always goalkeeper Tine Kneißl.
Shortly after the 0:1, Pija Reininger suddenly appeared alone in front of Wacker's goalkeeper Veronika Gratz after a great pass from Julia Deissenböck, but she still fended off the ball with a foot.
After the break, Forstern played more courageously and was also stronger in tackles.
But then came a fatal counterattack.
With a through ball, Wacker's striker got to the ball a fraction of a second earlier, and Kneißl stopped the ball with his hand in front of the penalty area.
The referee rightly showed the red card (49th).
Despite being outnumbered, Forstern remained dominant and pushed for an equalizer.
After a corner, Wacker fended off the ball too briefly.
Helena Altenweger followed up and hit the bottom right corner with a direct shot from 18 meters.
Forstern was now in play.
After a diagonal pass from Julia Ruckdeschel, Reininger appeared alone in front of the goal, but shot wide of the far post.
Wacker had counter chances against the unconditionally attacking Forsternerinnen, but almost all of them were brilliantly repelled by Melanie Scherer.
Of course Julia Deißenböck was missing, but she had to make room for goalkeeper Melanie Scherer.
Wacker's winner came out of nowhere after a long ball four minutes from time.
Coach Florian Guggenberger was annoyed: "A draw would have been deserved and a win would have been quite possible.

In addition to many corona cases, we were not able to compensate for the many departures and long-term injuries because the squad was not broad.” He sees the development of young players such as Veronika Auer, Teresa Wagner, Julia Finsterwald and Alina Jungwirth as positive.
He himself will no longer be part of the women's coaching team in the coming season, as he will take over the men's team at FC Forstern next season (report to follow).
Nevertheless, Guggenberger has not yet finished the season with the Forsterner women, because he is with the team in the semi-finals of the Bavarian State Cup.
