The Wounded Homeland Project announced that the Paralympic sports tests conducted for the wounded in all governorates ended with the selection of 123 wounded, in addition to 9 special sports.

The Wounded Homeland Project stated in a post on its Facebook page that the total of the wounded reached 132 competitors, as the selection was made with the aim of selecting qualified players to participate in the second Paralympic Games to be held during the month of October.

The project indicated that the injured athletes met the Paralympic and time standards, distributed among all games in badminton, 20 competitors, swimming 18, physical strength 47, table tennis 13, athletics 18, and basketball 23 competitors.

The project pointed out that all the wounded participating in the tests were subjected to the conditions of special sports, which is that the athletes must have amputation, complete or incomplete paralysis, and complete or almost complete blindness, in addition to achieving numbers and times set by the Special Sports Federation based on local numbers and the results of the First Wounded Homeland Games.

The project indicated that the wounded, whose injuries did not meet the Paralympic standards, will have the opportunity to participate in the sports clubs of the General Sports Federation for free.

Sports tests for the wounded were launched on the 5th of this month in the governorates of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Quneitra and Suwayda.
