Dax companies' digital search does not play a significant role in the applicant's digital skills. In particular, there is little demand for knowledge in innovative technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). This suggests an evaluation of nearly 6000 job advertisements by Dax companies, which scientists of the University of Applied Sciences Berlin have made.
Thus, only 17 percent of the evaluated advertisements of the most important listed German companies needed programming language skills. Competencies in IT trend topics such as cloud computing (7 percent), the Internet of Things (IoT, 1.4 percent) and AI (3.3 percent) play even less of a role.

It is obvious that technology and knowledge-intensive sectors, such as Munich Re, SAP or Telekom, are leading the list of employers who demand applicants for expertise in new technologies and programming - with up to 74 percent of the advertisements evaluated.
Surprising are the high tech requirements of the Beiersdorf Group, which originally specialized in cosmetics and demands technical know-how in 51 percent of its job advertisements. Taillights were the Berlin scientists according to Linde and HeidelbergCement. Altogether, there was a relatively high level of knowledge in common application programs from Microsoft Office or SAP.
