Following the attack in Halle, Sascha Lobo's recent column, "How the Net Fueled Fascism," deals with the role of the Internet in the radicalization of the offender - and explains why the discussions tend to dodge the sidelines.
"Gamers can with great gestures dismiss any connection between gaming and misanthropic ideologies as absurd," writes Lobo. "The rest of society can be outraged by something that they do not understand and therefore absolve them from any reflection." And even Horst Seehofer could "on behalf of the government grudgingly surprised to give." With the skip action the real problem is bypassed - finally to address the growing hatred of Jews in Germany, which is the breeding ground for violence.
In his podcast, Sascha Lobo discusses reader comments on his column.
