We analyzed tens of thousands of direct connections between seven German cities: Munich, Stuttgart, Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg. The data is from the months of July to September 2019. It evaluated 25,266 German domestic flights, 42,219 Flixbus rides and 53,284 train connections.
Here you will find the delays for each individual route - separated by plane, train and bus. Any arrival is considered late from 16 minutes after the scheduled arrival. Only direct connections without transfers were evaluated. For this reason, for example, the route to Dresden - Cologne is missing on the bus, the route Berlin - Hamburg on the plane and the route Dresden - Stuttgart on the train.
For train connections, the delays were higher:
By far the biggest problem with punctuality was Flixbus.
