Will justice be published? Weinstein's trial is underway in New York

The first criminal proceeding against Harvey Weinstein, and the most significant in the MeToo era, is underway in New York. The super producer is charged with a series of sexual assaults and if found guilty is expected to end his life in prison, but his defense attorneys are preparing for a lengthy and ugly procedure

A little over two years after the investigation into Harvey Weinstein, which led to the MeToo movement, opened in a Manhattan court in Manhattan's first forensic criminal trial. This is, in fact, the most significant legal process so far since the movement's birth, and is also expected to be one of the ever-communicated legal events - reportedly in the American media, hundreds of journalists and journalists will review it.

Of the dozens of testimonies published against Weinstein, two ultimately matured into criminal proceedings. Either way, he is already 67 and his health is certainly not in his prime. If found guilty, the sentence is likely to be long years in prison, and the implication is one: the super producer will end his life in prison.

Weinstein's attorneys do not intend to raise their hands easily and are expected to wage an ugly fight, which would include exposing messages sent to him by both complainants, and allegedly suggest that the sexual relationship was voluntary, not coercive. Defense attorneys also apparently plan to use their psychology expertise to try to undermine the evidence against him.

The procedure, of course, will not be short. He will start with the selection of the jury - which could take two weeks, as the defense has already expressed skepticism about the likelihood that those in it will be objective. Then the prosecution and defense and defense arguments will come, which will take another two months. At best, the trial will end in late March. The judge is James Burke, who stated that he would do everything possible to ensure a fair trial and for that purpose diminished audience and media access to proceedings prior to the trial.

The trial begins a few hours after the end of the Golden Globe ceremony, during which moderator Ricky Jarveys did not hesitate to sting all of Hollywood for closing its eyes for years to the actions of the super producer.
