Redoine Faïd, who was examined on Wednesday by the prison doctor, who had deemed his condition compatible with transportation to the court, then by an expert appointed by the assize court who gave an opposite opinion, has not been able to see a doctor since , according to his lawyers. "I hope that his state of health will be the only consideration taken into account by the prison administration," warns Mr. Belmokhtar.
Lawyers for the famous robber fear that the “lese majeste” crime committed by Redoine Faïd, who escaped twice - using explosives in 2013 and exfiltrated by helicopter by an armed commando in 2018 - urges the prison administration to take specific action against it. In the meantime, the robbery trial continues in Saint-Omer, as incredible as on the first day of the hearing: this Friday, Ahmed Yekken, sentenced at first instance to three years' imprisonment, has waived his appeal ruling that without Redoine Faïd, he could not hope for a "fair trial".
