She takes stock of the difficulties encountered by many countries, including France, to increase the rate of coronavirus screening.
LE FIGARO.- What inspires you from this Covid-19 pandemic?
Dr Catharina BOEHME .- I followed several epidemics that of MERS in 2012, of Ebola in 2014 and of Zika in 2016. Of course, the current crisis is different in its planetary dimension. It goes beyond my worst nightmares. In the diagnosis, we have never experienced such a situation with dramatic breaks in the supply of tests. In many wealthy countries, including France, there is an obvious crisis in the availability of tests. Diagnosis is the poor relation of health crises.
