Giant battle: YouTube is developing a new application called Shorts that will compete with the Chinese ticketing app • and has a big advantage here

YouTube, which is owned by Google, was until recently the coolest thing to bring to our lives the term "Youtubers", but then Chinese TikTok appeared and managed to steal the young audience. Now, according to a new report, the video giant wants to compete directly with the app by developing their own service called Shorts.

The new service, unlike Tictoc, will most likely run within the existing YouTube application and not as a separate app. Alongside this, unlike the ticketing where there is a fairly limited catalog of music, Google has access to a huge music library in the agreement, such as YouTube Music, so you can give users a much wider range.

According to an Annie report in TickTock, growth of more than 125 percent has been recorded over the past two years, according to a report released in January. The app has hundreds of millions of users and is a real cultural force. Download data on Google's Apple App Store shows that it has been installed about 842 million times in the past year.

Last November, the company faced an investigation by the U.S. government against ByteDance, the Chinese company that bought Musical (Musical.ly) in 2017 for $ 1 billion and created Tiktok.
