A smoking idea. A resident of Perpignan, who used to go to Spain to buy cheaper cigarettes than in France, got lost in the Pyrenees when he had left to refuel on foot despite the confinement.
In a message on Facebook, the Peloton de gendarmerie de haute montagne (PGHM) of the Pyrénées-Orientales denounces the lack of civility of this Perpignan resident, found "exhausted, shivering with cold and lost on the heights of Perthus", a village near the border with Spain. To rescue him, the authorities had to mobilize a Civil Security helicopter and "deploy major means".
“This young man, who left Perpignan by car, was turned back at checkpoints between France and Spain when he wanted to go to La Jonquera. He then decided to go on foot by a hiking path, hoping to cross the border by the mountain, ”recount the gendarmes.
Fallen in a stream and in the brambles
Unaccustomed to hiking, it seems, he fell into a stream, then into brambles, got lost and then called the fire brigade to the rescue.
After his helicopter hoist, he was fined, and will have to pay the fine of € 135, for breach of confinement. "We remind you once again: stay at home," support the gendarmes.
This weekend they also intervened, in Brittany this time, with a bather who took advantage of the sea in the simplest device, in Finistère.
