The beautiful weather attracts many people outside to soak up some sun and enjoy nature. According to nationwide exit restrictions , it is also allowed to do some sport outdoors - as long as unnecessary contact with other people is avoided.
Therefore, at first glance it does not seem really reprehensible to get into your own car * or on a motorcycle * and take a little jaunt when the weather is nice. After all, you can do both perfectly alone without increasing the risk of infection. But it's not quite that simple.
A jaunt by car or motorcycle: regulations vary from state to state
Whether, for example, a trip on a motorcycle is allowed depends on the respective federal state . For example, the ADAC points out that in countries where there is only a ban on contact, a motorcycle tour is permitted for leisure purposes. However, if you stop at a lookout point, you must keep your distance from other drivers. Many viewing points are also closed.
Bavaria, Berlin, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt are among the federal states in which you are only allowed to take a step outside the door for " valid reasons " - and why a spin on a motorcycle or by car is not possible. The house should only be left for urgent errands, visits to the doctor or the way to work.
Brandenburg and Saarland also have stricter exit restrictions than in other federal states, but private motorcycle tours still fall into the "sport and exercise" area and are therefore still allowed. In the federal states that adhere to the requirements of the federal government and have issued bans on contact, jaunts by motorcycle and car are at least not prohibited.

Corona crisis: ADAC advises against jaunts
Although a jaunt is possible in many federal states, the ADAC advises against unnecessary trips throughout Germany . The reason is simple: "Every exit poses a certain risk of breakdowns or accidents. Leaving the machine at home will avoid unnecessary dangers for breakdown helpers or emergency services, " explains ADAC lawyer Stefan Bergmann.
