  • Schwacke examined the value stability of cars.
  • The previous year's winner also did well in 2020.
  • A wide variety of factors are included in the assessment.

While some models lose much of their original value, others remain pleasingly constant and stable and are still traded as used cars * at high prices. Those who know these cars can save their money for the future when they buy it.

Schwackeliste: Which cars remain stable in value?

The vehicle valuation company Schwacke has now published the list of Wertmeister 2020 in collaboration with the AutoBild magazine. The 14 cars with the most stable value are listed there. According to Schwacke, these segments cover the market almost completely.

This ranking results from constant market observation. Around 50,000 different models in Germany are evaluated . Around 1.7 million market observations are evaluated every month. For this purpose, data from internet portals as well as from dealers, manufacturers and importers are used. In addition, statistical data on new registrations, rewriting and inventory payments are included in the evaluations.

In order to be able to compare the prices seriously , some standards were set. So it is assumed that the cars have a holding period of four years and an average mileage of between 11,000 kilometers per year (small and small cars and electric vehicles under 40,000 euros), 15,000 kilometers per year (compact cars, small and compact SUVs * as well as sports cars) and 20,000 kilometers per year (for all other classes). The additional equipment was based on segment-typical equipment - series or subject to a surcharge - which served as the basis for price determination for all corresponding models.

These factors are taken into account in the slack list

The determination of the most stable vehicles also includes a look into the future. In this forecast , Schwacke evaluates external factors , which include general economic developments, upcoming laws and regulations, and market and customer trends. There are also so-called internal factors, i.e. manufacturers' brand and model policies. Operating costs, design, concept, list price and discounts, volume planning as well as the life cycle of the model or series have an impact on the stability of value.

The most stable car in 2020 - as in the previous year - is the Range Rover Evoque , which retains its value of 64.99 percent after four years. Most money is burned in the luxury and luxury class, where the Audi A6 with 47.83 percent and the Porsche Panamera with 48.59 percent are still the most stable.
