2020-04-19T20:55:16.250Z

INTERVIEW - The virologist, member of the Scientific Council, fears a second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Bruno Lina is a virologist at the University of Lyon 1. Member of the Scientific Council, he details the country's immune situation against Covid-19.

LE FIGARO. - How many people have already been infected in France?

Bruno LINA. - In the most affected regions, the number of individuals who have developed antibodies against Sars-CoV-2 does not exceed 20%. At the national level, we do not exceed 10-15%. This is a fairly low figure, because we consider that a population is protected when 60% are already immunized. We are very far from it. This means that in the less severely affected regions the number of vulnerable people is still very high. Without distance measures, the epidemic could start again very quickly. We are therefore far from being immune to a second wave.
