Two injured police officers, a suspect arrested and documents describing a criminal plan. This is the result of a collision in the still confused sequence that occurred on Monday evening in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine).
According to police sources, it is around 5:36 p.m. when a man traveling in a BMW, it seems voluntarily, runs on police officers from the national police who are carrying out road checks for containment. Two of them were injured, one seriously from a broken leg. The latter is transferred to the Beaujon hospital.
The author of the collision was arrested by the municipal police. He presents himself as a young man of 29 years domiciled in Colombes and born in Luneville. According to our information, he declares that he has just seen a video on the Palestinians and that he wanted to attack the police. A letter explaining his gesture with possibly terrorist allusions is found in the floor of his car along with a knife. The suspect was taken into police custody.
The anti-terrorist services, DGSI and the national anti-terrorist prosecution, have been notified and must go on site. For the time being, the authorities remain cautious about the author's motivations.
