A young man was shot and another seriously injured "in a settling of scores", on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday in a city in the northern districts of Marseille.
The two men, known to the police, were in a parked car cited in Frais-Vallon (13th arrondissement) when they were targeted "with heavy weapons", said the prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille , Dominique Laurens, confirming information from Provence.
A charred car found
The driver died and the passenger was seriously injured. The car used by the attackers was then found charred in another city in Marseille.
This is the fifth settlement of accounts since the start of the year in the Bouches-du-Rhône. One of these "regulos" had already taken place in the heart of this same city, one of the strongholds of drug trafficking in Marseille, on February 10, with the death of a 20-year-old man, also machine-gunned at the wheel of his vehicle.
Ten people died in settling of scores in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in 2019, far from the 29 dead in 2016 or the 23 dead in 2018.
