Apple is currently working on a prototype for a folding iPhone, according to Twitter publisher Serial leaver and YouTube Jon Prosser. He said this is a different folding smartphone than Samsung and the competition, as it is a device that will combine two separate displays connected to the axis and will not be foldable by bending the screen.
Prosser emphasizes that the device may have rounded edges as we know from the iPhone 11, and even without the drawback when the face detection sensor is integrated under the screen.
The YouTube believes that Apple's version currently under development is more similar to Microsoft's Surface Neo and Surface Duo, both featuring a dual display and rotating on a 360-degree axis, and less likely to look like the LG V60 Thinq.
There is no mention or date when we will see an Apple folding device, but as early as 2016 there were initial rumors that the tech giant was starting to develop this kind of device, as well as a number of patents the company registered. In the meantime, there is also a chance that the device will not exit the prototype phase, and this is an attempt not to see daylight.
